Despite website itself looks clean and simple this was really interesting and very hard front-end and Javascript challenge for me. My involvement for this project was to create pixel perfect html and css structure. There I use real planning and made "Object Oriented" CSS stylesheet. Ok, this might sounds a bit too much but the truth is I had to create really advanced CSS and HTML because of the requirements.
The requirements was to make pixel precise website which works good with or without Javascript, works same way on all modern browsers including IE6 (yes, crazy!). Also this website have accessibility which means user can switch 3 different font-sizes, change 5 different colour schemes. This means I had to develop CSS stylesheet in a way it is enough flexible and in same time simple to add and change any styles.
Apparently the most hardest part was to create a menu for this website. Every browser have very different approach how to show the submenu. IE6 as a most "advanced" added countless hours for additional work.
Together with backend developer we found simple and therefore brilliant solution how to enable different styles even if there is no Javascript. All this works on Umbraco CMS and it gives for client full freedom to change/add content. So, basically it was great team-work and I am very pleased about result!
